Nestled in the heart of town, Austin Mill Pond offers more than just calm waters—it’s surrounded by some of Austin’s best sights. While you paddle, enjoy views of the city’s pool, fishing pier and parks, library, rec center, skate park, and even Hormel Foods. A walking path hugs the shoreline, making it a scenic and vibrant place to float. On calmer days, you can even paddle upstream a bit for a longer ride and a quiet escape into nature.

Launch and return from the same spot—it’s as simple as show up, paddle, relax, and go.

Trip Details: 

Start/End Point: Mill Pond North Boat Landing 

Age Requirement: Paddlers must be at least 9 years old to paddle a kayak on their own.
For tandem kayaks, the second passenger may be as young as 4 years old, as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

Weight Limit: 10 Foot Kayak: 250 lb

Group Rentals: At this time, we can accommodate groups of up to 6 kayaks. We’re a small operation with limited equipment, and this helps us ensure great service for all paddlers.

When you are finished with your paddling, please pull your kayak up on the shore and ensure it is far enough up on the bank/shore so it doesn’t float away.

*Reservations are required for all kayak rentals.
