About Us

We’re the zesty souls behind Floatin’ Goat Outfitters, a name born from our love of paddling and our charming little farm with dairy/meat goats and chickens. In 2023, we decided there was no better way to enjoy the water than to live right next to it—so that’s exactly what we did! Life's too short to not float, right? Nestled along the peaceful banks of the Cedar River, our slice of paradise is the perfect place to live out our dreams.

Living so close to the river sparked the idea to share that experience with others. We’ve both been paddling for years—kayaking rivers, lakes, and winding waterways across Minnesota—and the Cedar River quickly became our favorite stretch. We’ve spent countless hours exploring its quiet curves, spotting wildlife, and finding the best put-ins, take-outs, and hidden views.

In fact, kayaking was one of our very first outings together when we met, and paddling has been part of our relationship ever since. The Cedar River holds a special place in our hearts—it’s where we go to slow down, reconnect, and breathe a little deeper. Being in our backyard it’s also where we’ve hosted friends, taught our kids to paddle, and built a rhythm with the seasons.
